She was ready in record time and the wind was out of the west at 15-25 knts so I just had to go! My first time single handing her down and I gotta say, I felt so in flow; connected to the boat and the universe in a whole new way. It jet boosted my love of this incredible thing called sailing. You can see the second day was jib only. The first day was full main and reefed jib. It blew steady 18 and gusted to 25 but Leela was rock solid and the sailing was, well, exciting. Hahaha.
Of course this means, when the weather permits, the sailing can start! So all those from last year, stay tuned for blog invites as things warm up. For newcomers, don't forget to mark your calendar for Friday, May 20; our annual kick-off Tiki Party (more info to follow) at 6 pm, on the dock - directions are on www.thejoyofsailing.org. We're all looking forward to meeting our new sailing mates!
Love to all. Helms Alee,
Capt. Lynda
