Kristen, Lise, Mel and I set out on Friday morning July 16 with weather forecasted for rain all day...guess what, we never saw a drop!
We sailed into St. Joseph harbor, West Basin Marina about 11.5 hours after departing Montrose. It was an easy sail made WAAAAY more comfortable by our new blow up chair!
On Saturday we headed up to my favorite harbor, South Haven. We joined a busy boat parade between crowded piers and enjoyed the waves and cheers no doubt for the mermaid boat with all women...and a funny looking couch in the back hahahaha.
Lise and Kristen were once again awesome at the helm the entire trip. Mel was the life of the party. Check it out... Lise (who has never backed Leela down a channel), backed Leela all the way down the channel and into a slip at the SH Municipal Marina - it was perfection made even better when a young girl came out to land us! So so proud of all the ladies and their skills!
Now we look forward to the 7-Day Michigan Cruise that will take us farther up shore to Saugatuck and Holland. If you are interested in joining for all or some of the trip (ie. meeting us in South Haven and spending the day sailing), please let me know asap!
Keep sailing!
Lynda
